Good News from Sierra Leone: Funah, saved from FGM!

28 May

2 year-old Funah Kamara from Allentown, Sierra Leone was one of the first girls we could save from FGM thanks to your support with sponsorship contracts. Funah’s very young single mother contacted us immediately when she heard about our offer. Mrs. Kamara: “Many young mothers would abandon the brutal practice but the elderly people put a lot of pressure on us. Finally there is an organization supporting us, fighting against FGM. I never had the chance to attend school. My little daughter Funah will visit school one day thanks to our Desert Flower sponsorship contract and she will have a better life”

The Desert Flower Foundation has signed more than 500 sponsorship contracts with families in Sierra Leone to protect girls from FGM and to pay school fees.

Please support us with a donation or signing a Desert Flower sponsorship contract to save more girls in Sierra Leone from this brutal torture.
