The opening of a fourth Desert Flower Center is a major step in the fight against FGM.
Under the direction of Dr. Ghada Hatem Gantzer the facililty provides holistic medical and psychological care for affected women.
Up to 60 000 women are affected by FGM in France, with the help of “La maison des femmes- Centre Fleur du Désert” they can get a holistic treatment and support in the fight against violence.

Die Eröffnung eines vierten Desert Flower Centers in Paris bedeutet einen großen Schritt im Kampf gegen FGM.
Unter der Leitung von Dr. Ghada Hatem Gantzer bietet die Einrichtung in Saint Denis eine ganzheitliche medizinische und psychologische Betreuung für betroffene Frauen an. Bis zu 60 000 Frauen in Frankreich sind von FGM betroffen, mit Hilfe des Desert Flower Centers erhalten sie ein ganzheitliche medizinische Behandlung und Unterstützung im Kampf gegen FGM!

It is high time for politicians to take action against the ignorance of people practicing FGM and to stop this barbaric crime on innocent little girls
More and more cases of FGM are reported all over Europe and North America, but it seems there is no political will to protect those little girls from Africa who are at high risk to become victims of this terrible crime .
I am fighting against FGM since more than 20 years now and not enough progress has been made ,especially in Europe and the US ,to protect African girls from FGM.
We have talked a lot.
It is high time for politicians to take action against the ignorance of people practicing FGM and to stop this barbaric crime on innocent little girls.
Social services have to take custody of young girls who became victims of FGM before this beautiful little flowers become victims of forced marriages, rape and domestic violence too.
I demand from all Western governments to deport FGM perpetrators to their countries of origin as there is no place here for people who are not respecting their little daughters integrity.

Es wird höchste Zeit, dass Politiker dieses grausame Ritual und die Ignoranz der Täter stoppen!
Es wird von immer mehr FGM Fällen in Europa und Nordamerika berichtet, doch es scheint als ob der politische Wille, die jungen Mädchen vor diesem grausamen Ritual zu schützen, schwindet.
Seit 20 Jahren kämpfe ich gegen FGM, doch der Fortschritt erfolgt zu langsam!
Wir haben genug geredet!
Es wird höchste Zeit, dass Politiker dieses grausame Ritual und die Ignoranz der Täter stoppen!
Soziale Einrichtungen müssen junge Mädchen, die bereits FGM zum Opfer gefallen sind, in ihre Obhut nehmen, bevor die kleinen Wüstenblumen auch Opfer von Zwangsheirat, Vergewaltigung und häuslicher Gewalt werden.
Ich fordere alle westlichen Regierungen dazu auf FGM Täter auszuweisen, denn wir haben hier keinen Platz für Menschen, die die Integrität ihrer Töchter nicht respektieren.

Scotland Yard disapproves of FGM practitioner entering the UK
Kharday Zorokong, who took part in the 73rd session of the UN commitee on the rights of the child in Geneva last week, is believed to be the person, who now seeks entry into the UK.
Zorokong is a FGM practitioner in Sierra Leone and has a “high-profile-Status” within her community as the head of council of practitioners. As the secretary general of Sierra’s Leone’s National Sowei Council (NSC) she plays an important role in secret societes, which practice FGM as an initiation into the community.
NSC opposes a ban of FGM in Sierra Leone and says it should only be illegal until the age of 18, stating “that every girl is allowed to do what she wants to her body”, ignoring the pressure that society puts on them.
Now Scotland Yard is urging the high court to issue a FGM protection order and prevent “a person who may wish to carry out FGM” from entering the country.
The High Court refused to issue an order stating it would be more appropiate to adress the question to the secretary of state.
Zorokong and her delegation shouldn’t have been invited to the UN commitee in the first place.
The objection is a step in the right direction and shows the willingness to act upon FGM.
We demand a Zero tolerance against FGM perpetrators and an order to prevent Zorokong from entering the UK!
Nach der Teilnahme am 73. “Commitee on the Rights of the child” in Genf, möchte eines der Mitglieder von “Sierra Leone National Sowei Council (NSC), nach Großbritannien einreisen.
Es soll sich um Kharday Zorokong, eine Beschneiderin aus Sierra Leone, handeln, die als Generalsekretärin des NSC fungiert. NSC wendet sich gegen ein FGM Verbot in Sierra Leone und befürwortet lediglich ein Verbot für Genitalverstümmelung bis zum 18. Lebensjahr.
Ab der Volljährigkeit hätte jedes Mädchen “das Recht selbst über ihren Körper zu bestimmen”, der gesellschaftliche Druck als vollwertiges Mitglieder der Gesellschaft anerkannt zu werden wird an dieser Stelle außer Acht gelassen.
Aufgrund von Zorokong’s Einstellung gegenüber FGM, fordert Scotland Yard ein Einreiseverbot für Zorokong beim Innenministerium ein.
Der Einwand ist ein erster Schritt in die richtige Richtung und zeigt Handlungsbereitschaft.
Wir fordern eine Null-Toleranz Politik und ein Einreiseverbot für Beschneiderinnen.
Female Genital Mutilation has been illegal in the UK for over 30 years, but the number of women and girls affected by FGM is still rising. The government estimates 170 000 women and girls in the UK have undergone FGM.
Nevertheless there has been not one successful prosecution against FGM since.
What is missing is not the jurisdiction but the willingness to act, which leads to child abuse and a violation of human rights.
Now members of the British parliament speak up and demand harsher penalties against professionals who decide not to report FGM in children.
There are laws, training programmes for teachers and medical professionals in order to identify girls and women who are at risk, but still the protection fails. It needs the willingness to act upon perpetrators and the combination of prevention and punishment, when it already happened, until then FGM will remain effectively a legal practice in the UK!
Seit über 30 Jahren gilt Genitalverstümmelung in Großbritannien als illegal, doch die Zahl der betroffenen Frauen und Mädchen steigt. Die Regierung schätzt die Zahl auf 170 000 Frauen und Mädchen.
Trotz der hohen Betroffenheit und der Gesetzgebung, gab es bis zum heutigen Zeitpunkt kein erfolgreiches Urteil gegen einen FGM- Täter.
Das Problem liegt nicht bei der Rechtsprechung, sondern bei der fehlende Handlungsbereitschaft, welche Kindesmissbrauch und eine Menschenrechtsverletzung unbestraft lässt.
Britische Abgeordnete forderten diese Woche härtere Strafen gegenüber Personal, welches ihre FGM Verdacht nicht anzeigen.
Großbritannien führte bereits Gesetze, Trainings für Lehrer und medizinische Personal im Kampf gegen FGM ein, dennoch kommt es zu keinem Rückgang der Zahlen. Es braucht die Handlungsbereitschaft und eine Kombination von Prävention und Rechtssprechung, wenn das Verbrechen bereits geschehen ist, bis dahin bleib FGM eine effektiv legale Prozedur in Großbritannien!

700 million people world wide and especially in Africa can neither write nor read. Education is an essential step for the growth of Africa and the end of female genital mutilation!
In order to put an end to this high illiteracy rate I am starting a new educational project “My first reading book” for children.
By climbing up Africa’s highest mountain, the Kilimanjaro, and participating in a desert marathon in MoroccoI am collecting donations for the new project of my Desert Flower Foundation in Africa.
Together with personal trainer Jopo Pötschger and Ultra-Marathon-Champion Christoph Harreither I am getting ready for this athletic adventure in the Austrian Alps at the “Easy-Motion-Skin” Resort established by entrepreneur Christian Jäger.
During the breaks I am working on my first reading book for children, which I will donate to schools in Africa next year.
Education is the first step to self-determination. Africa will only continue to grow and solve its problem by investing more money in education!

700 Millionen Menschen weltwelt und vor allem in Afrika können weder schreiben noch lesen!
Bildung ist ein wichtiger Schritt für die Weiterentwicklung Afrikas und für das Ende der Genitalverstümmelung!
Deswegen möchte ich mit meinem neuen Bildungsprojekt “Mein erstes Lesebuch” für Kinder der hohen Analphabetenrate ein Ende setzen!
Mit der Besteigung des Kilimandscharos und einem Wüstenmarathon sammel ich Geld für das neue Projekt meiner Desert Flower Foundation in Afrika.
Um mich für das sportliche Abenteuer vorzubereiten trainiere ich mit Personaltrainer Jopo Pötschger und Ultramarathon-Champion Christoph Harreither im “Easy Motion Skin” Resort von Unternehmer Christian Jäger in Seefeld.
In den Trainingspausen schreibe ich an einem Lesebuch für Kinder, das ich nächstes Jahr kostenlos an Schulen in Afrika verteilen werde!
Bildung ist der erste Schritt zur Selbstbestimmung! Afrika wird sich nur dann weiterentwickeln und seine Probleme lösen können, wenn viel mehr Geld in Bildung investiert wird!
